Power

2016 Transit Connect Under bridge.jpg The 2016 Ford Transit features a choice of three engines. The base 3.7L V6 engine uses a twin independent variable cam shaft timing technology with dual overhead cam shafts and a sequential multiport electronic fuel injection for a smooth and steady stream of power, producing 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It uses a 6-speed automatic SelectShift transmission with overdrive. You can also choose the 3.5L V6 engine with EcoBoost technology for excellent power without a drain on fuel efficiency. This comes with a dual-turbocharged direct gasoline injection system for more power when you need it. This engine produces 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. You can also opt for the 3.2L 5-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 185 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Diesel engines usually have higher fuel efficiency than standard engines, but the Transit Connect does not have EPA efficiency estimates recorded.

The 2016 Ford Transit Connect features two different choices of engine. You can choose from the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with Duratec technology for an engine that won't let you down. This engine produces 169 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque, with sequential multiport electronic fuel injection for a smooth and steady stream of power. It gets up to 28 mpg highway. The other option is the 1.6L 4-cylinder engine with EcoBoost technology, which uses direct fuel injection for more power when you need it. It produces 179 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, and gets up to 29 mpg highway.
