What Are You Looking For?

EcoBoost Performance

2016 Ford GT Side Rear

The 2016 Ford GT features the most powerful EcoBoost engine Ford has been able to put into a production car. The EcoBoost engine is a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which will produce over 600 hp. The EcoBoost engine is available in many Ford performance vehicles, like the new Mustang, F-150 Raptor, and Fiesta and Focus ST sport models. The new EcoBoost engine has been tested in the IMSA Daytona prototype car for endurance and high performance, and it features a particularly wide powerband with strong time-to-torque and power figures. Because it's based on engines made for endurance racing, the incredible fuel efficiency pairs with excellent performance--this means that not only does it have an advantage on the track, it will be great value for the road. This engine has won three times in the IMSA Tudor United SportsCar Championship and once in the 12 Hours of Sebring race, along with seven other wins over 15,000 miles. The engine features a brand new port/direct fuel-injection system, which will improve the response of the engine. It also comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch trans-axle transmission for quick gear shifting and fantastic control. The engine is mid-mounted for a perfect weight ratio, and comes with rear wheel drive for better sports handling.

A Chassis For Speed

The new chassis is made for aerodynamics, with a body made from advanced lightweight composites to take advantage of the engine's intense power. The chassis is anchored by a passenger cell made out of carbon fiber. Then the front and rear subframes are constructed out of lightweight aluminum, and armored with carbon fiber body panels. Carbon fiber was used because it is one of the world's strongest materials, ounce for ounce, providing a perfectly stiff foundation for better handling even at high speeds. The lightness of the carbon fiber combined with the engine power means that the GT has one of the ratios of power and weight of any car currently in commercial production. The incredible, lightweight, ultra-strong body means that you'll get fantastic performance out of your car no matter what.

Constructed to Win

The 2016 Ford GT is designed for sleek aerodynamic efficiency. The shape is made to reduce drag and increase stability and downforce, through a teardrop-shaped profile that provides optimal lack of wind resistance. The fuselage is inspired by professional aircraft that are designed to reduce turbulence, while the curved windshield enhances visibility. Finally, the active rear spoiler will deploy, stay hidden, and adjust its angle and height depending on your aerodynamic needs.

Classic Modern Design

The 2016 Ford GT is designed to accentuate the incredible power of its engine, making driving this powerful sports car a driver-centric experience. The chassis features an active racing-style torsion bar with a pushrod suspension, which makes for an adjustable ride height that will carry you over smooth or rough roads alike. The wheels are made with a unique structure and alloy designed for the GT, with carbon-ceramic brake discs at each corner.
