You can also choose the 3.5L V6 engine, which uses twin independent variable cam shaft timing and sequential multi-port electronic fuel injection for a reliable and steady stream of power. It produces 280 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque, and gets you up to 26 mpg highway. Both of these engines come with a choice of front wheel drive or intelligent all wheel drive. Finally, the Sport version comes with a 2.7L V6 engine that's twin-turbocharged with direct multi-shot fuel injection for incredible power when you want it to the tune of 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. It gets up to 24 mpg highway, and comes with intelligent all-wheel drive only.

The 2016 Ford Flex comes with a choice of two engines. The base 3.5L V6 e3ngine comes with a twin independent variable cam shaft timing system with sequential multi-port fuel injection and a naturally aspirated compression system for power with efficiency. It produces 287 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque. The 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission helps it get up to 23 mpg highway, while the single stainless steel dual exit exhaust with catalytic converters makes it a clean engine that won't knock or stall. It comes with a choice of front wheel drive or all wheel drive. The 3.5L V6 engine uses EcoBoost technology to get you more power without a corresponding loss in efficiency. It uses a twin-turbocharged direct fuel injection system for more power when you need it, producing an impressive 265 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. It's available only with all-wheel drive, and gets up to 22 mpg highway.

Edge Advantages: The 2016 Ford Edge has a cargo shade to keep your gear cool and out of the sun. It also comes with a hands-free liftgate, which can be opened via a touch or remote control for easy loading of your gear. You'll get a tow hitch for hooking up a trailer to tow your gear, which isn't available on the Flex. It also comes with wheel locks for keeping your car in place on steep slopes.

Flex Advantages: The 2016 Ford Flex comes with standard rear air conditioning to cool off your passengers. It comes with a standard in-vehicle GPS navigation system, while it's just an extra option on the Ford Edge. You'll also get standard fog lamps to see through the gloom even in the day, as well as standard high-intensity discharge xenon headlights for an intense brightness. Rain sensing wipers are standard on the Flex, while they're just an available option on the Edge.

Luxurious wood grain interior trim comes standard on the Flex, and isn't available at all on the Edge. The remote engine start lets you start and warm up your car from inside your house or in the parking lot; it's standard on the Flex, and available on the Edge. It also comes with a Wi-Fi hot spot for your devices. Finally, the Flex has power folding mirrors, which aren't an option on the Edge.
