You can also choose the available 3.5L V6 engine with twin independent variable cam shaft timing, which produces 280 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. This engine uses sequential multi-port electronic fuel injection for a steady stream of precision power, and gets up to 26 mpg highway. Both of these engines come with a choice of a front-wheel drive or intelligent all-wheel drive. Finally, the Sport trim level adds a 2.7L V6 EcoBoost twin-turbocharged engine with direct multi-shot injection for impressive power on command, which produces 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque and gets up to 24 mpg highway. It comes with all-wheel drive.

The 2016 Ford Escape comes with a choice of three engines as well. The base 2.5L Duratec engine is a 4-cylinder engine with an independent variable cam shaft, which produces 168 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. It uses sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection for a smooth and steady stream of power. With its 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, it gets up to 31 mpg highway. It comes with front-wheel drive.

The 1.6L EcoBoost engine is a 4-cylinder machine that comes with twin independent variable cam shafts and direct fuel injection for more power when you need it, getting 178 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque from its turbocharged system. It gets up to 32 mpg highway. The 2.0L EcoBoost engine is a 4-cylinder machine with a Ti-VCT and turbocharged fuel injection, which produces 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque and gets up to 30 mpg highway. Both of these engines come with the option of front-wheel drive or intelligent all-wheel drive.
